Screenprint Political Poster Workshop, Artstation, 24 Sept


Artstation in Ponsonby, Aukland are hosting an exhibition featuring a selection of political posters,
titled Art/Movement: Political Poster Art in Aotearoa,
from the collection of Kotare Trust for Research and Education for Social Change,
who hold an archive of more than 500 political posters from the past 35 years.

The exhibition opens at Artstation on Tuesday 20 September, 5-7pm, running until 1 October.
During the exhibition, everyone is invited to create and contribute their own poster and paste it up. 

The Kotare Trust poster collection themes including;
honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi, anti-racism/anti-apartheid,
unemployed workers' rights, feminism, peace, environmentalism and education. 

   
Also, to coincide with this exhibition, there is a silkscreen political poster workshop
being held on Saturday 24 September, 10am-5pm
where participants can learn how to design and print a political poster
with artist and tutor Jarad Bryant, designer of the GE Free movement butterfly logo.
